Canon Imageclass D1120 – Three In One Duplex Machine

Canon refers to their imageCLASS D1120 as the base model for the series, but for a piece of hardware loaded so full of excellent features, it almost seems like a typo. This network ready Multifuntional laser copier comes equipped with fast print speeds and great paper handling abilities, and also a built in Ethernet port.

Print speeds on the Canon imageCLASS D1120 are raging fast at 30 pages per minute for letter sized paper, and copy speeds are equally as quick. Resolution is good for a laser, running at either 600 X 600 dots per inch, or 1200 X 600 dpi. Printing can also be done in duplexing mode for double sided productions that have a professional look, and save paper. You can also duplex copy and scan. There is no built in modem, so faxing of any kind is out.

Ranking in at 20,000 pages per month, the duty cycle lets you know the machine is designed for high output, and yet it comes in a small package. With a footprint of only 17.7″ (W) x 18.6″ (D) x 18.3″ (H) in dimension and a curb weight of less than fifty pounds, big things have come in a small package.

An automatic document feeder is built into the top of the convenient flatbed design that can hold up to fifty sheets of standard paper. This ADF is critical when making multiple copies, but can even be used in the case of multiple scans. JPEG, TIFF, and BMP formats can be used for single scans, or multiple scans can be compiled into a single PDF file and sent directly to your computer, at an optical resolution of up to 600 x 600 dots per inch, or interpolated of up to 9600 dots per inch.

As a copy machine, the Canon ImageClass D1120 sports all the standard, excellent features we’re used to seeing from the manufacturer, including a memory sort feature, a toner saver mode, and a 2 on 1 mode, but this time, Canon has also given us something new. It’s called I.D. card copy, and it’s a built in system designed to help you make copies of double sided I.D. cards of employees, or for home records.

Because duplex loading cannot be used with oddly shaped media (only letter or legal sized), Canon created the I.D. card copy program that is implemented directly into your machine, and instructs you how to align your identification for a perfect single sided copy.

The time to first copy is approximately eight seconds, which means less waiting time and more output. The copier also features reduction and enlargement in one percent increments, or in convenient preset percentages.

Not every office requires a fax machine, and a three in one unit such as this helps to cut cost and space if the fourth feature is not needed; this Energy Star compliant model is designed for those with a demand set such as this. For a high output multifunctional device backed by the quality and ingenuity of a well established company, the Canon ImageClass D1120 is a great place to start for your printing and copying needs.
